1 Corinthians 13: 4 -7
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always persevere.
__________
Hi there. I have simple questions. Are you hurting? If you are, are you hurting for the right reason? Are you completely sure, with no doubt at all, that you love your friend, your crush, or your lover?
True love means that you wouldn’t be doubtful against your friend, wondering if you’ll separate and become strangers. It means that you’ll trust them that you guys will stay the same and that they’ll look for you in the proper time.
True love means that even if your feelings or efforts are rejected, it doesn’t matter because you’re giving effort because you care about the person. You don’t want them hurt, you don’t want them tired, and most of all, you want them happy. True love means that when your everything is not appreciated and when you are facing too much challenges and everyone expects you to quit, you still hold on.
True love means that you will be persevering even in the harshest conditions and when despair comes to visit. If you love the person and you are losing your reasons to work on fixing the relationship, true love gives you hope. Not the false kind of hope that tides you by for a few minutes, hours, days. It gives you the truest kind of hope; The hope that shines brightest and illuminates even the darkest of thoughts. It is the kind of hope that will assure you that everything will happen in His own time and in His own way. True love means that even in the darkest of hours, you hold on to the truest of all hope because you love the person.
True love means that you aren’t out to keep your friend to yourself. It means that you give them space and you share your friend to the world, showing how wonderful and amazing that person is. It means that you don’t feel jealous when the person is happy with other people. In fact, the mere fact that your friend is happy is something to rejoice about! True love need not boast nor envy because good intentions keep you on track of your purpose: to make the person you love happy.
True love means that you don’t get angry over simple things. You overlook the situation and you move back to see the whole picture! You do not focus on yourself but look around to see how everyone else is affected. It means that even when the friend you love screams at you telling you to stay away, you are still thinking as to what is best for your friend; whether it be a tight hug that says I care about you and you are important to me, time away from each other and space. True love means that when dealt with anger, you answer with loving care.
True love means that you won’t care if this is the second time you’ve been left hanging for a date, or if this is the thirtieth time. You understand why things don’t work out because things have valid reasons. True love means that it does not count the wrong doings of the person, but instead counts the blessings they have been to us. True love is understanding.
True love means that you do not revel in the pain of the person. This is the worst kind of anger. If you truly love the person, then you do not rejoice in the person’s pain. Instead, you cry along with the person! You are hurt as if you were the person himself. How could you be happy if the person you love is hurt? True love means that you care about the person you love, and you don’t want any harm, whether it be physical pain or painful lies, to hurt him or her.
I am glad to know love in this way. I know not even a hundredth of a fraction of love, but even that small portion is truly amazing and beautiful.
On a side note before I end this blog: Have you truly loved when you said you did?
* wowwwww *
